Pounding the Pavement

You work hard; you keep your nose to the grindstone and your pedal to the medal.
You burn the midnight oil and you mind your P’s and Q’s.
You give one hundred and ten percent and you shoot for the moon.
Then one day, management pays a king’s ransom for another company and suddenly it’s a dog eat dog world and you’re dinner.
The severance check is in the mail and you’re pounding the pavement licking your wounds.
But all's fair in love and war
And even though it cuts to the quick
It's just
Another nail in the coffin
If you have an ax to grind
Go blaze a new trail
And always remember that what comes around goes around and every cloud has a silver lining.

Welcome

Hi.  I'm Anne Sutton... an underemployed media professional working towards my Certificate in Technology and Communication at U.N.C. Chapel Hill.  Over the next 16 weeks, this blog will be home to my efforts at becoming a better writer. Check in as often as you can stand it; I will do my best to make it tolerable.
